Animal of the Day - 12.28.2010

Here is one of two alligators that were rescued by my mother's co-workers. The pair were named Ike and Gustav after the hurricanes that orphaned them (I don't recall which one this is). I meant to get recent pictures when I was out of town last week but never got around to it. Next time I'm down there I'll get new pictures and hopefully a video of me getting bitten by one of them.

I hope you all are (still) having a good end of the year. Things will still be busy for me for the next week, but I'm going to start visiting all of you lovely people starting tonight. Not you personally, just the blogs you have created.

  3. He looks so...comical. Let me rephrase that. The first pic he just looks like, "Ha!"
And then the following pics he's got that grin.

So wait, do you have the video somewhere else, or do you plan on filming one of them bite you? Because if it is the later, then I have misjudged you.
    P.S. - I am judging you. Get a swimsuit.

  8. @ Rorschach, I thought my wording was a bit weird. I actually plan on letting one bite me. I wanted to the last time I saw them but my girlfriend was freaking out. I've always been fascinated by animals harming me.

@Das Auto! - I had to look at that pic again, I imagined him thinking something funny and smiling about it. Made me do a proper lol

  9. @TAV : why did you have to say that to RR? Now he's going to read all kind of Freudian stuff into that and assume you want your father to bite your willy off. (Or something.)

  13. Worst bite I've ever gotten was from a 5 lb chihuahua. No joke. Can't imagine what a croc bite will be like. Keep us posted! Good thing you can still type with one hand.

  15. Just wait until those little guys get big enough that you can ride them. I agree with Rorschach about these being somewhat comical. I love that smug grin in the last picture, like he knows something that you don't.

  17. They start off so cute. Why do they have to grow up into murdering machines that hate you and everything you love?

  18. even the little ones will take a chunk out of you. I got chased by one while fishing in a lake last summer.

  19. Now all you have to do is find a female alligator to be Ike's girlfriend, and name her Tina Turner.
